
Professor Richard Scolyer
Professor Richard Scolyer has been recognised with a Medal of the Order Of Australia In the General Division (OAM) for his distinguished service to medicine, particularly in the field of melanoma and skin cancer, and to national and international professional organisations.
Professor Scolyer, Co-Medical Director at the Melanoma Institute Australia, is also senior staff specialist in tissue pathology and diagnostic oncology at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
He is also co-lead of the MIA Melanoma Translational Research Laboratory in the Charles Perkins Centre at the University of Sydney.
Professor Scolyer is internationally regarded including for his contributions to melanoma staging and reporting, and is considered one of a handful of Australians in oncology on the Highly Cited Researchers list.
He is a past president of the Australasian division of the International Academy of Pathology and is also co-president of the Academy’s 2022 World Congress.
